A Letter to the Editor: Gun Control

It seems that politicians manage to turn every great tragedy to their advantage. I'm sure this time will be no different. As a people, we must remember to oppose the gun control legislation that is bound to come out now, in response to the VT Shooting, because although such legislation may seem to be the right thing to do, you must remember: The Constitution specifically protects the People's right to bear arms. Do not let our politicians, as anti-constitution as they are, remove that right, even if your only reason for doing so is to prevent the future removal or limitation of other, more necessary rights. If you let one right, guaranteed by the constitution, to be removed or limited, you are paving the way for our government to remove other rights, including the right to free speech that is already in jeopardy. Let us not forget: "It takes a lot of degeneration before a country falls into dictatorship, but we should avoid these ends by avoiding these beginnings." (Sandra Day O'Connor)

Censorship strikes again!

http://wral.com/entertainment/story/1266 875/

ya. again.

Imus has every right to say what ever he feels like saying, and the Rev. Al Sharpton can just get over the fact that he can say it. The first amendment guarentees you to free speach. That means that Sharpton can say whatever he wants. That also means that Imus can say whatever he wants. Imus should not be suspended for saying anything, especially if it is in the context of a joke. End of story.
